My little girl had to get glasses last week. This isn't entirely shocking since I am pretty blind myself. What was shocking was her negative response to them. I figured since she always commented on my glasses and how they matched my outfits, that she would be keen to sport her own spectacles. Not the case. She has been pretty down about wearing them and thinks she looks silly and ugly with them on. It is so hard to hear a five-year old say they think they look ugly. So to cheer her up, I thought it would be fun to let her get dressed up and take some pictures wearing her new glasses (yup, two pairs!). I plan on pinning some of them up on the cork board in her room. Somewhere along my studies I remember reading that kids who have pictures of themselves in their bedrooms have higher self-esteem.
We have also been following Noah on his Facebook page Glasses for Noah. She likes knowing that other kids have to wear glasses too. His story is really cute! So please check out the pictures and comment! I will share your comments with my lil' one and hopefully we won't have any more arguments about wearing her fancy frames.

Brooklynn....I just love, love, love your new glasses! I wish my glasses were pretty purple ones like yours. You look very beautiful in your glasses.....don't you know a lot of beautiful, smart and wonderful women wear glasses....like me, Mommy, Grandma, Bobbi, Jessi, Great Grandma Donna, just to name a few.
